One of P. Ramlee’s most popular films, Pendekar Bujang Lapok is the second instalment in the Bujang Lapok series and follows the three friends Ramli, Sudin and Aziz as they encounter a group of gangsters and decide to learn self-defence.

Along the way, they discover their attraction to their martial arts teacher’s daughter, Rose, and her attempts to help them with their illiteracy. The film explores themes of friendship, education, self-improvement and overcoming challenges.

Although the three main characters have the same names, actors and personalities as in the previous Bujang Lapok film, Pendekar Bujang Lapok is not a direct sequel, as there are no canonical references to the events in its predecessor.
